Alistair Wardell

Head of Restructuring, South Region at Grant Thornton UK

South Region (Bristol, Cardiff, Reading and Southampton), United Kingdom

About Me

As Head of Restructuring for the South Region I work with businesses to help them optimise their performance and structure, to enable them to achieve their objectives.

Vastly experienced in helping businesses set a clear purpose, I assist them to develop granular and measurable insights about their future. I lead a highly experienced team of restructuring and insolvency specialists who are located across the South Region. Working together, we help business leaders produce, and importantly, implement plans that deliver in line with stakeholder expectations.

When cash flow is under pressure, we work with a broad range of lenders and are able to find quickly the right solution for a business.

We work extensively with Asset Based Lenders and have excellent market knowledge of who to approach for this funding.

Where necessary, to maximise stakeholder value, I take insolvency appointments with the key intention to help protect a business, its employees, customers, suppliers, lenders and other creditors.

As a regional partner, with over 20 years at Grant Thornton, I have a wide range of experience across a broad range of sectors. These include manufacturing, life sciences, recruitment, care homes, construction, hospitality and leisure, law firms and retail.

Outside of work, I enjoy Eastern philosophy and yoga; all those headstands help me to view the world of business from a different angle. Trust me perspective is very important in a crisis!
